The Moscow X-Factor youth ministry celebrated Men's Day
The Moscow X-Factor Youth Ministry recently celebrated the Russian holiday, Men's Day, with an action-packed outreach. Media Mir television director Alexander Dovgan shared a timely message about what it means to be a man of character in today's world, reports Rick Renner Ministries. He stressed to the young men that being a representative for Christ requires strong character. Reputation is often difficult to build but all too easy to destroy. Part of our witness is the change Christ makes in our lives. Our character is the evidence of this change, and if we have lapses in our character, we must repent in our hearts and demonstrate this repentance through our outward actions. Alexander shared these and many other principles about building godly character, encouraging the youth with ways that they could begin to develop their own character through Christ Jesus.
Following Alexander's presentation, a team of bodybuilders called Breakthrough demonstrated amazing feats of strength and gave their testimonies about what God has done in their lives. Breakthrough began in Yaroslavl, Russia, and has been preaching the Gospel throughout the former Soviet Union for many years. On this day, the team performed 19 different feats of strength in 30 minutes. They ripped apart phone books two at a time, bent steel bars over their heads, blew up hot-water bottles, and performed many other difficult, dangerous, and physically demanding feats. After watching these strong, muscular men do the seemingly impossible, our youth listened with rapt attention as the men then talked about how Christ was the true Source of their strength and the power behind their lives and ministry.
After Alexander's teaching and the Breakthrough team's ministry, four young people gave their hearts to Christ. For these youth, the Men's Day holiday marked the beginning of a new life in Christ.
