Pastor from Korea told about the transformation of water miracle

Pastor Kim Myung Sul of the filial Manmin church in Korean province Muan told in his interview the korrespondent of Christian Telegraph about the miraculous appearance of the supply of fresh water on the territory of his church. In his interview he mentioned that there was no drinking water in their region and the closest source of fresh water was kilometers away. Also he noticed that the water has healing power and many people received miraculous healings because the Lord has done a miracle with the water in Muan.

Please tell us how God did this great miracle transforming the water in Muan?

We moved here in the end of January 1999. We took over this territory from a previous owner. You know, the atmosphere around here was very good but we had one problem, which was drinking water. The former owner drilled a well to find fresh water to drink on the hill, but his efforts were fruitless. So, whenever we saw the well that he drilled we prayed how happy we would be if this water was drinkable. At that time, we didn’t have drinking water so we put a pipe under the ground for three kilometers away to bring the water like that. It was very difficult even in our imagination. It was a small island, nobody lived here. Wherever we tried to drill a well we just got a salty spit of water. Few decades ago it was just an island, The government reclaimed from the sea around the island and now it seems like a part of the land. So we could get only bitter salty water on this island. So at that time water was very, very precious to us. One day at this place I and the other church members had time to read the Bible and we stopped at the passage in Exodus, where it said that the bitter water turned into sweet water. We thought that God was yesterday, today and forever the same. And I said that God is alive and He can change this water to a drinking water. Because I am not a Moses and I didn’t have power to change the water and make it drinkable. I just had a thought that I have a senior pastor. So I and some church members decided to go to the senior pastor and shared what difficulties we had in our church.

What year was it?

1999. So we visited our senior pastor and told him about our church’s situation, that it was very hard to get drinking water and asked him to pray for the well, for the water to be changed. We all began praying.

Did he agree instantly?

We asked him several times. It was just a confession of our faith. Also by faith we changed our greetings, when we met together. We have “an-nyung-ha-se-yo”, that just means “hello,” but we changed our greetings from “an-nyung-ha-se-yo” to the phrase “water changed.” We also wrote a song, which said that the water was changed and we would sing this song together in the church. So we had been doing that for one year. In March 2000 I went Seoul to attend the Friday overnight service. Also at that time we had an evangelization campaign here in Muan so I asked the Sr. Pastor to pray for the campaign. He suddenly laid his hand upon my head and prayed for the appearance of the drinking water. He asked the Lord to change the bitter water for the sweet water. At that moment when I received a prayer from him I had faith that the water was changed at that moment. Because we had been praying for it for a year so I was really confident in that. For ten days before I received a prayer from the senior pastor I was seeing a rainbow around the sun, during those ten days all the church members shared with each other what good things happened to us. Also at that time I fasted for seven days for our senior pastor. Most of our church members also fasted, some of them for three days, some of them for longer. And now I think that God forced us to do those kind of things so that He would receive all the glory. So at the moment I received the prayer I had faith that the water was changed. I came back and it was Sunday, next day. As you know we had two services on Sunday. After the first service I announced to the people from the altar that as God showed His miracle to Moses He has done the same here. I did the announcement but I didn’t actually go up there before to check things out. So after the service all together with the members of the church we went up to the well and wanted to taste the water. The miracle happened! The water was changed! We could drink it!

So the process of the change was not gradual, it happened instantly.

Yes. We clapped hands and gave all the glory to God. At that time extraordinary things happened. Some people’s spiritual eyes were opened and they saw the Lord in the sky and many angels were there and a very bright light came from above to the well. We were so excited and so happy. I called Senior Pastor Jaerock Lee and told him about the miracle. We had evening service broadcasted live with Manmin Central Church in Seoul, Korea.

We prayed to the Lord and asked Him to give us a sign as the water was changed by Him and the rainbow appeared.

Did the members of Manmin central church know about the situation that you had suffered for drinking water?

Not everyone but some people did know about it.

So the quality of the water didn’t change from that time?

I believe that the taste of the water is going to be better and better. We sent the water to FDA two times and received pretty good results.

I heard that there is a power in this water that heals people. Did you have any plans to distribute it around the world? I mean not as business but as a blessing to other people.

Because it was given to us from God we cannot use it with business purposes. We do send many bottles to the other countries if they ask but we do not have plans to distribute it yet.

I see. And how many members are there in your church?

About a hundred people who attend regularly and six hundred people are registered as members.

Were all of them involved in active prayers for the changing of water?

No, not all of them. About thirty people prayed all the time. But other members knew what was going on because we would talk about it on Sundays and ask them to pray but those who actively participated in prayer for this purpose – there where about thirty of them. They would pray every night, for example.

We had heard testimonies that people here in Muan or from other nearby areas saw the miracle and because of it came and joined the church. Do you have such testimonies?

There were such people, not many of them.

But the rumors about it are spreading, aren’t they?

Yes, it is a well-known fact in this area.
