Manmin, where Dr. Jae Rock Lee is a senior pastor, held mini-Olympic games for the members of its church. The competitions were held during the summer retreat which began on 2 August.
“We were so impressed! How was it possible to prepare a place for the Olympic competitions with the help of regular church members in just one night?” shared one of the guests of the conference. “The organization of this event, which was only part of a summer retreat, was done at the highest level. Everything was thought through very carefully. It is still a mystery to me how they have done all of this. Maybe it is all about the unique Korean mentality. They definitely do everything as for the Lord.”
There were three teams that took part in the Olympic games. The jury consisted of the leaders of the church and guests from other countries.

“To just go and organize fun and useful event – this is so Korean-like,” say representatives of the Ukrainian delegation. “People in the church Manmin are very deep spiritually. They really love God and try to do everything possible to serve Him. Unfortunately in our Slavic countries we are used to organize our church events in a slipshod manner. But here it is not the case. Koreans do not live like that. If they need to do something, they do it quickly and with quality. And these competitions are just another great example of this. There is so many things to learn.”
The Oplypmic games began with the festive march and welcoming of the sportsmen by the leaders of the church. The jury prayed for the competitors and asked God to bless them and keep them safe during the whole competition. After that the festive fireworks followed and the teams took their places.

“What you see in the Manmin church is very random and you can hardly see the same in other churches,” said pastor Daniel Rozen from Israel. “Ministries of the church Manmin are very comprehensive and even in Israel we are very blessed by their ministry.”
The Olympic games ended with the victory of the red team and the prizes were handed in. It is note-worthy that among the prizes there were expensive household appliances and other useful items.
The summer retreat of the Manmin church is being held for a couple of years. During the services people become witnesses of miracles and are restored spiritually. As the church leaders say, it was a very important time when members of the church, missionaries and guests from all over Korea and other countries came together.
