Summer retreat opened in the church Manmin in Korea

Famous church Manmin in South Korea opened its retreat on August, 2. Senior pastor of Manmin church is Dr. Jae Rock Lee, Christian Telegraph reports. The opening was held on the biggest open field in the country, among the mountains. More than five thousand people came to the retreat from Seoul. Pastors of other Manmin churches from different countries came also. Among them were pastors from China, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines, Canada, USA, Israel and others.

The retreat was opened with a welcoming message and a prayer from the senior pastor of the Manmin church Jae Rock Lee, performance of the worship team on a massive stage and professional dances in beautiful national costumes. Pyrotechnic special effects followed. “We were really surprised that all the dancers and the worship team are regular church members and housewives who were specially trained to serve the Lord during this retreat,” said the guests of the conference. “It came out that the summer retreat was organized on the initiative of the regular church members – they raised all the money by themselves and took care of all the details: trained and instructed volunteers, made festive costumes and build beautiful stage.”

Special seminar for all the participants was held by the youngest daughter of Dr. Jae Rock Lee, pastor Soo Jin Lee. The theme of the seminar was sanctification and faith. “In order to come up to the next level of faith we have to get rid of sins in our life,” she said in her sermon. “At first we get rid of obvious sins in our life – this is the first level of sanctification. But we should not stop at that. The next level that we should strive for is to get rid of sins from our thoughts. It is quite difficult but God will give us strength to fight against sins if we want to do that instead of enjoying sinful thoughts that come to us.”

The service ended with the communal prayer during which the daughter of Dr. Lee thanked God for His miracles that He performs during services. Eyewitnesses noticed that at one moment during the service because of the light-and-shade effects the shape of an angel appeared on a hillside.

Church Manmin holds such summer retreats that gather thousands of people for a couple of days every year. Very often miracles happen during these retreats. One of such miracles is the appearance of dragonflies that come in big numbers and are not afraid to sit on people. But the main reason of the appearance of dragonflies as representatives of the church say, is the fact that they eat mosquitoes and drive them away from the venue where services are held.
